To Senator Daschle: I faxed much of this, written to Senator McCain, to your office when the cover up of the 3/7 Cavalry was in its early days, thinking that you might take up so major a concern. (You were one of many important critics of the Bush administration whom I wrote or called.) This is a documented part of my pending book “April Fools, Captain May.” Candidly, I believe that you and other Democratic leaders failed to do your jobs because you had made a deal behind the backs – and over the bodies – of the kids I used to lead when I was an Army officer, and I don’t appreciate it. Please give these matters your full, immediate attention now that it appears to be politically expedient to stand up for the citizens and soldiers again. Please call me at your earliest convenience – or don’t. It’s all in the book now…
