August 30, email to the megamedia

Ladies and gentlemen, Captain May sez that the military has a nasty tendency to knock women service members down and rape them in the flesh, then rape them administratively when they get up and complain.  Well, I’m glad the media is making some noise about the most recent rapes at the Air Force Academy.

Call me Southern and sentimental when it comes to protecting women, but I sure wish someone would make a brave stand against the services on this issue.  Thankfully, someone has.  I humbly point at myself.

I didn’t wait for the prez to tell me it was OK to stand up for women’s dignity because the Moslems were abusing them in Afghanistan and Iraq.  I charged into the battle of equality against my own team, the US military, sacrificing my career in the process.

I append two essays that I published in the Houston Chronicle when they were able to publish the truth (before the invasion of Iraq – y’all know what I mean).  They concern the issue of institutional sexual harassment of women in the military.  You might think it strange that an Army officer (then a humble captain on a general staff) would take on the patriarchy of the Pentagon, but I did it, and I believe I did it well.  I even appeared on the Geraldo Show around the same time to make sure no one had any doubts that a true officer serves the Constitution first and the commanders second.  That’s called loving your country, folks, and putting yourself second.  It’s called patriotism.

I volunteer to address any of the issues in these two attached op-eds (I don’t think you’re ready to talk about even more serious issues, yet).  Contact me if you wish.  On my honor I will not embarrass any of your megamedia bosses while discussing limited issues in your limited forums by pointing out that they are collaborating with the commander in chief to subvert the American Constitution.

By the way, after the two op-eds (well written, I’d say, but I defer to you real pros for approval), I’ve appended a little material I kept around from my days in Army Public Affairs:  Statement of DOD principles for news media coverage.  Everyone is supposed to understand them, but that it appears everyone misunderstood in the Quicksand War we’re currently fighting.  I sure wish you media folks had been aware that you were abetting treason when you went along with the military on the Pvt. Jessica diversion.  Oh, well, I suppose the dead from the Battle of Baghdad don’t mind being deleted from the public memory by our information pros.  Orwell said it would happen, so I guess it’s old hat.

Enjoy the op-eds, and learn a lesson about integrity.

Regards,

Captain May

Commander, Ghost Troop, 3/7 Cavalry (Light)

PS:  Keep an eye on General Clark.  I’m coordinating my Infowar offensive with him.  I’ll let you in on a hint:  Fox news and the Houston Chronicle are going to cease to exist after the Congressional Hearings (Clark called for them on CNN Crossfire June 25, but y’all weren’t paying attention).  I’ll designate further entities as they become sufficiently obnoxious.  Get in line behind the truth, folks, because it’s going to be hell on liars soon.  Just ask Tony Blair’s boy.  Anyone notice that he let it leak out that he had decided to resign in “early April?”  Hmmm…  I’ll bet that’s when Victoria Clark and Ari Fleischer decided too…
